Oh Dear Sweet Soul,
I’m so glad you’re here. I wonder where your heart is today amidst the uncertainties we are facing in our world. I wonder, if you’re like me, finding yourself pondering what today, tomorrow and the days ahead may hold. Are you fearful? Anxious? Downcast?
Take comfort, friend, you are not alone.
Are you seeking to make sense of all the news reports, to funnel out the truth you need to know in hopes that you might stay educated to the ever-changing events? Are you seeking to discern these things through the lens of scripture, wondering what God, your Maker, has to say about these days?
My dear friend, there is HOPE and we find it in God’s Word!
Although the circumstances we face may feel dark and hopeless and may be a way for us to be tempted to let fear and anxiety rise their ugly heads, we do have a CHOICE.
The Lord has given us promises and help to combat our fears! Do you see it? Can you hear Him calling to us? Our Lord is with us and He is our Refuge! We find safety resting in His loving arms and CHOOSING to look unto His Word instead of the headlines. We need not be fearful for He is with us… Always (Joshua 1:8-9)! His Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path! (Psalm 119:105)
“There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn. The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His Voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Come, Behold the works of the Lord, Who has made desolations in the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire.
Be still and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.”
Psalm 46:4-11
Take Heart, Sweet Soul! Our God is Good and Worthy to be praised. We can choose this day to exalt Him and give Him thanks. We can choose to press into His loving word, find refreshment in His Promises and rest in His PEACE…..and yes, even amidst these trying times! He’s calling to us…”Come, Behold, Know that I am God. (I will be your refuge.)”
